I've just about had it with the effing tourists showing up with their 40' motor homes, cranking out their awnings, putting down another 10' of outdoor carpeting and then trying to save parking spaces for their effing friends who might show up in the parking lot by noon. I let some people have it this morning. I encourage any other "locals" to do the same. Don't be bashful about flagging down a ranger to back up your complaint.

Damn discourteous tourists come here twice a year, don't know the rules, don't want to follow them when they're told the rules, and think they get to run
the show. Eff'em!

Aw Sherrif Bawb, get with the program this is the 21st Century. Dr. Wilkes is gone, so is Eddie McBride. Give up bro, taking it out on tourists isn't going to help matters.

The Hawaiians got it right. Tourists or anyone else who visits their beaches and acts like a jerk gets the appropriate response. Visitors who think they own the place because they show up once or twice a year are made to feel unwelcome... there's a dark side to the Aloha Spirit. Some surf beaches in California and Hawaii for that matter have inhospitable reputations. San Onofre has a reputation for being a friendly, gentrfied place to enjoy the sand and the surf. So be it. But when the tourists show up and act like jerks, they should be made to feel unwelcome.

Heck, some of the regulars are jerks too.

You know things are tough at San Onofre when a Ranger has to ask one of the locals what the rules are! Oh, and remember Sheriff Bob, we have the 4th of July still to come along with Labor Day, so as my good friend Stimpy used to say: For-Joy For-Joy!

Murph,

It's gotten so bad on the weekends, I don't think we'll be able to tell a typical summer Saturday or Sunday from the 4th or Labor Day. I'm still going to play the bad guy when it comes to jerky tourists. And yeah, not all the locals are good guys, but the jerky locals are the exceptions. Most of the locals are decent people. In fact most of them are great to be around and to surf with.

Imagine if Adam had not tasted the forbidden fruit. Every time you went to Sano for a surfing session, it would be 6 foot, glassy and warm water.
Now there would still be a lot of people, but they would all be really cool people.
So everyone would be on the beach saying, are you going out? The reply would be. I insist you go first an have some fun. You would say, no I insist you go first.
I guess we have to point the finger at Adam.

A foot note to the comment I just made. I have had some run in's, with some real creeps there. But I will still enjoy that place and you will too Bob.
Shaka.

Sheriff Bob, I know how you feel and thats why its so hard for me to go out. People show no respect for anyone anymore, all they think is "Look At Me I'm Surfing" (or what they think is surfing)hopefully this "Its The IN Thing To Do" will pass and things will settle down alittle like it has in the past, if not, there's always GOLF!!!!!

LOL!!!

Not to be a smartass, but surfing uncrowded waves in SoCal was a thing of the past 40 years ago.

What Sheriff Bob experienced started even before he entered the park on Sunday. Tourists were hopping traffic in line to get in. Crowds go with the territory. Saving spaces is the biggist summer bummer. Where do these people get off hijacking parking spots from others that got up early to enjoy the beach? They should be warned once. If they don't comply with the rules, ban them from Sano for good.

New T-Shirt idea..."I've been banned from San O".
