So that nobody feels left out, this is to serve as official San-O Daze notification of the paddle out for Terry McCann on Saturday, July 8th at 3:00 p.m. at Doheny. We'll probably paddle out from boneyards, but conditiions will determine exactly where we'll hit the water. The outrigger canoes and the Sheriff's boat will stop at the appropriate spot were the circle will take place. Any questions see Kiefer at the beach.

I don't understand sweet-n-low's post or how it relates to the main post, nor do I understand how her post on her blog that she linked to relates to anything here. Steve who? Carolyn who? Are/were they San Onofre people? Friends of Dr Ralph? Don't he have email? Is this spam?

I understand Sheriff Bob's post, but not how it relates to the main post.

Sheriff Bob is not a member of this blog, so he is letting us know what is up with the paddle out, something we will post on the main page.

I, like you, am totally cornfused by sweet-n-lows comment and subsequent link. And the smiley face thing bothers me also.

Yeah, I'm with ya on the smiley face too.

Ok to answer everybodys question here it goes.

First of all, I don't know what is being put in this ocean to create such a paranoia among you surfers. But you need to cut back just a little bit. Your paranoia is so far out there, you totally missed the wave. ;) Did you get that metaphor. As far as the smiley which really seems to have people worried. I usually put a smilies all over, because I smile alot, sorry that raised such a concern.

Next issue, who are these people? What does it matter who they are, it was just a personal reflection on my life and my friends and how lucky I am to have them. I thought that was what these blogs were for, to talk about what ever you wanted to without being judged. I didn't mean to post the url for the site, it was copied into my mouse to share with my family. My 7yr old was nagging me to go somewhere and I didn't even realize it until it was to late. I'm sorry if I broke I rule, I surely didn't mean to offend anyone.

But lets face it guys, how many times do you really stop what your doing just to be grateful for you friends. And how your lives are so much richer for having them be a part of it. The only relevance to the inital post was the joke made towards Dr Ralph and his 12 years and 12 months of service or what ever (and yes, I did get the joke). That's why the post was directed towards him, sorry to pop the old conspiracy bubble people. But maybe if I had used metaphors that the beach people could understand. The actual message wouldn't have gotten lost in the over analyzing of the names of the people which you could have just inserted the name "Terry".

For the past what couple of weeks, I've been reading about the loss of Terry and the paddle outs. And believe me when I say I have much respect for the beach, surfers, and all that goes along with it. So when I heard about the loss of Terry, which I just assumed was an old timer surfer. Rather than asking irrelevant questions, like who he was, or who his friends were and why are all these people doing a paddle out for him. I sat back, soaked in the messages, and respected the love you all shared for this man. I too actually found myself paying my respects in my own way. I didn't need the details to see he was somebody that was very special, and well respected. And I didn't need to bother everybody with stupid questions that didn't have anything to do with the messages.

So now for all those nice people that where so confused about this. Why not now, go back re-read it. And instead of worrying about who my friends are, insert the friends in your life that have touch you the deepest. And see if you don't have some reflections of your own, instead of paranoia. Life is too short people to be worrying about conspiracies. Do like I do, just smile... ;)

Geeze. Ease up a bit. If you wanted to know about Terry, you could have asked or you could have read what was posted about who he was and seen the pictures posted of him. But you didn't need to ask, I understand. You got the meaning of it without asking.

Someone should have asked you directly, but I guess when some linked to the link you put, they thought that maybe it would make sense to them and when it didn't, they posted their confusion here.

Look, we all ain't college graduates and most of the posters here are men and if you think that they understand women, then sister, you and I gots to have a cup of coffee and talk.

Sweet-N-Low said...

It's all good, I wasn't mad about any of the posts. That's what this is for, right. But Reader Girl, you're right we should sit down with a cup of coffee. And thanks for the compliment about college. I was too busy being a single mother for college.

The fact that it is mostly guys posting is what makes this site so great. How else could we observe the male rituals in their natural habitat. I just thank my lucky stars everyday that I'm a woman, because I love men to much. And If I want to play with the same toys, I pull out my own toy box... ;)
