SURFLINE CAMERAMAN TURNED AWAY AT THE GATE THIS MORNING!

The surfline cameraman was told he could not cut the line this morning so he could go in and video tape San Onofre for their Surfline surf report. He had earlier in the week talked the guard into letting him in before anyone else making her think he was doing a great service for the Beach and the State Park service. He didn't tell her he was payed by Surfline for the video and did no service for San Onofre at all.

  1. Finally some good news!

  2. Geezus H.Christ, Murphy.
Why does San Onofre Surf Beach want to submerege surfing further into that Club's quagmire. Can you answer that? Are you aware what Surfline Crew can do for you? I can't hardly believe it, can you?

It was bitchin', a white van drove passed the cars in line and stop just before the gate as murphy was helping the guard to open. He had a short conversation with murphy and then stormed back to his van and never came in. What the hell did you tell him?

  5. I told him he had to go to the end of the line and wait just like everyone else. The guard told me later that he made it sound as if he was doing San Onofre and the State Parks a great service. He never told her he gets payed by Surfline to video tape the surf at various breaks so they can charge you a monthly fee to check the surf from home! Just what could the Surfline Crew do for me? If they wanted to do something for surfing, stop showing the surf and make people drive to the beach to check the surf, thats part of the surfing adventure, not checking it from home and then calling your buddies and say "THE SURFS GOOD AT SAN ONOFRE" so call the world and tell them to meet us there!

  6. Why do you call yourself big helyn? Is it the size of your mouth?

  7. Murphy, can you imagine where our sport would be if everyone subscribed to your thinking? Hint: prehistoric dirt road, that's where.

  8. Land sakes Murphy. What's the difference between Surfline Corp. charging a monthly fee and State park sucking $125.00 for an Annual Pass.

  9. But surfline promotes surfing, like the Club promotes surfing, like this blog promotes surfing, like you, Murphy, promotes surfing,
    so
let the guy in to take his pictures and he leaves quick enough anyway.

  10. Murphy I don't believe ever told him he couldn't go in. He simply told him he had to get in line like everyone else. Hell, they don't even let handicap people cut the line what makes surfline think the're so special. I think Murphy should demand an apology.

  14. Murphy, it's guys such as you and your ilk that give surfing a black eye. You could', woulda', shoulda;, let Surfline crew butt in line. Now, they'll go to
our sister city, Oceanside where there's no insipid line.

  21. Stupid is as stupid does.
Murphy, let's pretend CBS, not Surfline, shows with a $60,000.00 Sony 3200 Beta, which as you know is ready to go on air. Do you still play martyr and tell him to get out. Studio camera is 3/4", VHS is 1/2". Well, what say you.

  22. So let me get this right, your saying that its ok when someone has been waiting in line since (lets say) 4am and some late comer drives down the road and cuts in front of him as the gate is opened? I happened to be 1st in line and I'll be dammed if I'm going to let some none emergency personnel cut in front on me so he can go tape the surf for their morning surf report. Now as for the people behind me, thats would be up to them. Do you know that thats how he gets his paycheck by selling the video to Surfline? I WOULD let any emergency personnel in at any time, as for CBS or any news group, they would have to have the park Rangers let them in. If the guy has a problem with what I told him, let him complain to the Rangers, but then YOU know what they would tell him, don't you! I hope I answered your question.

I happen to know of several times when someone has cut in front of someone who has been waiting in line for an hour or more, and has payed the price of a bloody nose for his stupid selfish inconsiderate move.

  25. Back to the 7-11 slur-pee.

  26. Oh, Murphy, for Pete's sake. In the game of surfing only the strong survive. Camera crews cutting in front of those poor souls who've been waiting in line stargazing since 0400, well like
Slur-pee says 'tough totems'. If it's too hot in the kitchen, get the hell out. I bet if it were Bruce Brown and the Endless
Summer crew you'd be holding the gate open for them.

  27. Murphy, why don't you just sign the name Murphy to all your "Inquiring Minds" and anonymous comments that are asking Murphy for all the details?

    ReplyDelete
  28. murphy you are a clueless pothead and an idiot control freak. you have no right to do or say anything about san onofre state beach. it belongs to the state. get it? state beach? we control the beach!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Murphy:

You would NEVER drive around 15 lined up vehicles because one of your other insomniac friends left room for you to cut?

You would never do that, would you Murphy?

    ReplyDelete
  30. I must speak on Murphy's behalf. Murphy is league with Mike Hynson, Aaberg, Butch, Dewey, and all San Onofre greats such as hmmmm. Oh never mind, See you at 'Nofre's 'Hall of Fame Awards, Murph. Regardless, don't let these people get to you, life is tough at the top.

  38. Murphy, what on earth is "too bored". We know what you mean, but why do you clutter with your deadwood such as 'too'. Enough is enough. Okay.

  39. Murphy! What were you thinking? By all means let EVERY corporate surf company like the Surline "Crew" that has a buck to make off SanO or any other beach cut in front of you and everyone else that's been waiting. Fair? so what!! We here in the O.C. got $ to make!! Get out of our way!! Some of you mention "surf culture"? Corporate Surf companies make "surf culture". Just look at all the fellas wearing our product and looking the way we tell em to look. Kids just want sponsorship so that they can mugg and make silly faces in magazines. That's the kind of status/ego boost that really matters to them anyhow. Surfline and ther other corporations will help them. You should let us build the toll roads too while your at it you bunch of baby's!! Just think, if we can get the folks in the 909 to come down here to clog the beaches, go into town, buy some tacos and some really killer "surfwear" think of all the revenue/taxes that could be made for our shops and county! God bless the free market and screw you "idealists".

When your in the water, how many really ride??? Malibu is the best example of this. Why do people go in the water in mass and just sit there and get in the way?? Oh, surf culture Hah!!!
