Surfwise Movie Review

All in all this was a pretty interesting film about a very unconventional family. The kids sure had interesting takes on the old man, some very negative. I watched the movie while eating dinner and could have done without seeing the wrinkly old bare butt of the Doc and his take on his sex life, especially the oral. The visual was just too much for me. This is NOT a surf movie so don't expect that. More of an inside look at an unconvetional/dysfunctional family. Go see it.

  1. Why Moon', how'd you get a copy, like that is priorty
stuff. I heard you couldn't get near the theatre in Irvine, but you say you have the Director's cut. Why you, and not I.

  3. sorry to disappoint you, but Moon has no connections whatsoever. I watched it on Pay Per View for $10.

  4. Moons, I sure hope Doc and family make as much as Bruce Brown did
($15,000,000.00) on that agony filled, tears in the eyes, surfer's wann2bee dream, Endless Slumber.

  5. in 1966 I was 18 yrs old and that was by far the best surf film of that era, hands down. I know it is very campy now but it sure was great then. unfortunately I think it also put $15 million dollars worth of new bodies in the water too.

  6. Moonsie, baby, it stinked then, it stinks now. Bruce made a fortune off poor Mike Hynson. August is the typical goofy foot backside guy. You all know thhose two did't make a cent. Bruce gives them airline tickets while, at the time was next to nothing. Hynson sued the mega-millonaire Brown. When you do career moves, have it in writing, which you'll never get. Threr's
a bazillion wann2bees who'll do it free. Moondog, we're not offened. Trust me.

  8. This movie was crap, crap, and more crap. The real story isn't interesting, but this "say what the director wants to hear" version is just crap. "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves" is as real as this is.

  9. A repost of an old picture
and a review of an inane movie.
    Welcome to San-O Daze,
    kook.

  10. What a Waste of Time is there any Legendary Cameos in it. Like, all complaints seem to come from SOSC members that are envious and green with jealousy the film isn't about their family. This includes Sal Geeze and his tribe of many.

  13. Sounds about right! The talk has been for years of how the kids were screwed up big time along with the folks!

  17. too bad the Paskowitz's couldn't have watched Ozzie & Harriet then they would have had a perfect family just like all of ours.

  18. I wonder if Robert said anything about money? A still photog has made big bucks off the pics from the early 60'S. Heard at Malibu, It's all about greed big time when the first, all my work book came out!

  19. Hey guys? A thought? It takes 2 to make these pics or movies, doesn't it? One in the water and the other with the camera? 101 may be right on?

  20. Hi, everybody, I saw 'Surfwise', what you read on Sano-Daze is jealousy, envy, and all that triteness. Moondog, are you actually he?

  21. The Doc has done more for surfing than Jesus did for Catholicism. Okay, maybe not more, but it's close, a really close second.

  22. As, in nothing!

  23. doc paskowitz did contribute to surfing and his contribution was large, but Dr. Seuss he sure ain't.
The kids still harbor anger and resentment about the way they were raised.

  25. Look, you want wisdom or something of value for the belly of your mind? Go to the library.

You want the chewing gum equivalent of nutrition? Watch Jerry Springer or go to a circus sideshow or plunk down your $15 for this movie. None are "real," none are of value, but you'll kill some time.

  26. THIS FILM IS HORRIBLY HURTFUL.

DORIAN "DOC" PASKOWITZ, THE SUBJECT OF THIS FILM, CALLS THE DIRECTOR OF THIS "FUCKING" FILM A "BASTARD" AND SAYS HE IS COMPLETELY MISREPRESENTED IN THE FILM.

DO NOT SEE THIS FILM. YOU PEOPLE PROMOTING THIS FILM ARE JUST FURTHER HURTING THIS FAMILY AND DOC PASKOWITZ.

DOC GAVE AN INTERVIEW TO THE JEWISH WEEK AND SAID "This documentary, this director, just wanted to make me an oddball, an eccentric."

The interviewing reporter explains: "That last sentence, by the way, is not an exact quote. In fact he uses a euphemism for love making when referring to the film and another for an illegitimate child when talking about the director."

AND THAT PART WHERE HIS DAUGHTER CLAIMS TO HAVE BEEN SEXUALLY SCARED FOR LIFE (BECAUSE OF EVENTS IN HER UPBRINGING) DOC SAYS “Scarred for life? I just pray your daughter has the sex life my daughter has.” SO, SHE'S FINE. IT'S ALL TWISTED LIES JUST TO MAKE MONEY AT THE EXPENSE OF AN OLD MAN AND HIS FAMILY.

GIVE THEM PEACE. DO NOT SEE OR PROMOTE THIS FILM. IF YOU DO, YOU ARE ONLY SPREADING HATE.
