AMERICAN HERO

It’s amazing how many times I have driven the road to San O and never once gave it a thought as to what Basilone road was named after. I did a little research and found out the following: Basilone Road is named after a Gunnery Sergeant John Basilone, (November 4, 1916 – February 19, 1945). He was a United States Marine who received the Medal of Honor for his actions at the Battle of Guadalcanal during World War II. He was the only enlisted Marine in World War II to receive the Medal of Honor and the Navy Cross. His story will be told during the new TV series called The Pacific.A section of U.S. Interstate 5 running through Camp Pendleton is named the "Gunnery Sergeant John Basilone Memorial Highway".About the TV series:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pacific_(miniseries)About Gunnery Sergeant John Basilonehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Basilone

Eddie, baby, are you sure you don't mean San-Daze Hemorrhoids rather than freakazoids.
