San Onofre: Not Lesbian Friendly?
San Onofre: A park ranger has sued the California Department of Parks and Recreation, saying she was harassed and discriminated against during the six years she worked at San Onofre and San Clemente state beaches because of her gender and sexual orientation.
Jennifer Donovan, in a lawsuit filed in San Diego Superior Court, said sexually explicit material was regularly posted in locker rooms and elsewhere in her workplace, including sex toys, obscene drawings, women's underwear and negative comments against homosexuals.
Donovan, who is a lesbian, said she also was forced to work in a sexually charged workplace where supervisors routinely made disparaging and offensive remarks.
In her lawsuit, Donovan said she was ““subjected to constant sexually explicit jokes, pictures, gestures and comments and expected to participate or at least not complain, among other things.””
She also said she was passed over for promotion in favor of other rangers with less experience, including one man who was under investigation for posting nude pictures of himself on a state computer.
““This is the kind of behavior that should not go on in any police department. It's really shameful,”” said Donovan's lawyer, Wendy Musell.
Donovan, 43, was transferred to a post in Humboldt County in 2006, her lawyer said. She is seeking an unspecified amount of money in damages.
““We're hoping not only that Ms. Donovan will be made whole but that there will be systemic changes,”” Musell said.
A department spokesman, Roy Stearns, declined to comment because he said department lawyers have yet to review the case.
Donovan filed her lawsuit in August, but the case was dormant until last week when she retained Musell's San Francisco firm, Musell said. She said the case was reactivated Monday when the Parks and Recreation Department was served.
Before going to court, Donovan filed harassment and discrimination complaints with the department, but ““it was not taken seriously by the department”” and Donovan was retaliated against, Musell said.
In her lawsuit, Donovan said that in some instances when she applied for promotions, the positions were eliminated by her bosses so they wouldn't have to give the job to her.

The New Vblog Studio
Tubesteak's Vblog LLC. is currently moving into these new digs. Befitting the man himself, this new hi-tech facility will provide the entire universe with unlimited entertainment and will be broadcast in 12 different languages. Mr. Steak tearfully thanked the members of the SOSC BOD for their generous support but noted he still hates that dirty, dusty road.

NORTH SHORE, OAHU...
Every year at about this time numerous professional and big wave surfers from all over the world converge on the north shore of Oahu to try their luck against mother nature and fellow surfers in a multitude of contests. This contestant was in town in hopes that they would be running the Eddie Aikau, a contest held only for the best of the best when wave face height reaches at least 30 feet.

I'll bet the original core of riders at "Mavericks" don't like this.

Just A Sweet Girl Who Needs A Day At The Beach With Her Uncle
Please be nice to my niece when she comes to San Onofre Surf Beach next Sunday. She’s a sweet girl inside. She has had some problems, but my brother assures me that decapitating and burning her Barbie dolls is a normal rite of passage, though the fire did get out of hand.
The Fire Marshall was exaggerating when he said she drenched half the house in gasoline. Five rooms isn't really half, and they were mostly just the rooms with people in them. The claim that she tied up the whole family with wire while they slept, so that they would burn in the fire, is also untrue. First of all, Grandma was not home at the time, and she is very much part of the family, though she does have her own condo across town where she sleeps.
Secondly, several of them were tied up with extension cords, and while I would agree that there is wire in an extension cord, I think that the difference is important.
Thirdly, if she truly wanted to kill them, she could have done so when she slipped sleeping pills into their evening dinner. I mean really, what was the point? Are we really to believe that she drugged them just so she could tie them up, and she carefully calculated the correct dosage so that they would be awake in morning when she set the house afire; all so that they would be conscious when they were burned alive? That's absurd. If she were that clever, she would have simply given them all a fatal overdose and been done with it. What she told the doctors is just some fantasy.
The blood tests of the family are not reliable. Look that the LAPD and O.J. Simpson. They contaminated the blood in that case. It was proven. I don't think we can believe blood tests that show that all the family members in the house ingested the same pills. And how can they really tell that it was mixed in the food? The same lab tested the leftover food! For all I know the whole lab is contaminated with sleeping pills, so that everything that they test shows signs of sleeping pills.
Really, I just want you to be nice to her. She has just had some issues to deal with. You can read about this normal rite of passage, including how such hatred and violence are normal in a study by the University of Bath.
