Keep trestles clear of any kind of development including developed footpaths and tunnels and toilets and rangers and ranger buildings and lifegaurds and lifegaurd traffic, cars sirens, expensive salAried park employees and regulation of any sort. why are californians sitting by and watching their own infrastructure grow to the point of not being able to sustain it? why are californians letting the park system get so top heavy that it is closing the parks? why are we doing this type of construction right in the middle of the holy grail of surfing, and one of the nicest examples of a natural setting left on our coastline? lets fight this the way we fought the toll road. It’s amazing how many times I have driven the road to San O and never once gave it a thought as to what Basilone road was named after. I did a little research and found out the following: Basilone Road is named after a Gunnery Sergeant John Basilone, (November 4, 1916 – February 19, 1945). He was a United States Marine who received the Medal of Honor for his actions at the Battle of Guadalcanal during World War II. He was the only enlisted Marine in World War II to receive the Medal of Honor and the Navy Cross.
