PAIN & SUFFERING
Beach time is fun time. Not Ssn Onofre surf beach. The day is hot, the day is dry. An ice cold brewski is what the doctor ordered. No, is what the lifeguard says. "No alcohol on the beach. Period," he shouts. There's no one here, I say. "Can't you read the sign,"he says. I think, why is he looking at me, and not the water? An automobile traveling 12 mph along the dirt road. "SLOW DOWN!" someone rudely shouts. Another 5th generation Club member says you can't park here, I'm saving this for a friend." I think I'd rather have a Palapa in Jalapa, a pad in Trinidad, or a condo in Redondo, rather than face this cub hodge-podge on a weekly basis. Why are Park Rangers packing anyways.

FIRST TO BLINK
Tomorrow, Friday, we are laying our cards on the table. Any and all questions will be answered. There is to much turmoil and indecision for me. There is no reason for this. It is the responsibility of the honchos who control the beach to make it operate as a well oiled machine. Because of flooding the insipid road will be closed as usual. Parking will be limited to a small area across from the Marine salami league ball field, a short 1/2 mile trek to the dilapidated palm frond shack. Bring your goulashes.

GOOD NEWS BAD NEWS WORSE NEWS
The semi annual beach walk through showed ongoing weaknesses. Trash receptacles are spaced too far apart. The door to toilet #1 in Bldg. #4 was removed, but not replaced, preventing exclusive privacy rights. Restraining parking telephone pole parking logs need refinishing with clear resin to prevent splinters. Willy-nilly parking is allowed encouraging helter skelter parking. Club members must remember it is their responsibility for beach trash collection. Trash will not get up and walk to the aforementioned receptacles. Mooching and soliciting will not be tolerated. If you are near the volleyball courts please shag the participant's ball if it nears you. Do not get in line prior to 0600. All waves must be shared by its riders. Wave hogging is not encouraged at anytime. Do not open ice chests without owners permission. Belly boards are permitted only at northern area of beach. No automobile repairs allowed at San Onofre, this includes oil and filter changes. State lifeguards have final say.
