Late at the gate
What happened this Sunday at the gate was a real pisser! The line of cars waiting to go in was very large due to the great weather and some decent surf. The gate was not opened until 6:20, and the Ranger on duty drove right down Basilone road at 6:10 after leaving the gate at the Bluffs camp ground and had to have seen the line at Nofre and that the gate was not open and should have made an effort to come over and find out why! The young woman at the kiosk said she had to wait for the Ranger to come and open the gate. Ranger dispatch was called at 6:10 and told the Mayor the Ranger was on the way to open and thats when the Ranger was seen driving down Basilone road and leaving the area. Finally the woman took it upon herself to open the gate at 6:20. (after some engine reving and horn honking) Could it be the state parks service is going to shut down San Onofre and could care less about the daily use permit holders and paying guests? The sign says 6 am to 8 pm, not "we'll open when we're dam good and ready"!

if that ranger keeps up the attitude and mouth, we need to make her life miserable. Arhie needs to go Native on her. What a
"CU*T" !!!!!!!!
Gawd only knows. Mark Reynolds drinks too much, the poor gal might have had to deliver her child to day care center. Archie must loosen up a bit. Christ, live and let live.
Look, they got better things to do with their time than open up the gate for some guys who got nothing better to do than sit there from 3:30 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.
There's no booze allowed in the park, but drinking in line at 3AM is allowed.
Interesting that the Ranger noticed nothing odd about 100 vehicles in line at 6:20 and the gate still closed. They are nothing but worthless DMV type employees with a badge and a gun.
Anyone else wishing to complain to a supervisor about this or other incompetence, send it here:

The Ranger sunday was not a HER, it was a HIM and he was new to that shift. I don't blame the Ranger I blame Dispatch for not radioing the Ranger and letting him know the situation at the gate, or the gate person should have called the Ranger for asistance or the OK to open the gate. Either case, its very poor training.
Archie, we've got your back. If its the same gal in the kiosk Saturday as last weekend, give her hell if she pulls the same stunt.
