Debunking The San Onofre Closure

The place was jammed Saturday! First of all, there was a Tri-State Beach Volleyball contest down at the lower volleyball courts. It was packed with contestants, vendor tents, and crowds like I've never seen for beach volleyball, not even in Huntington Beach.

Then, up at Old Man's, there were over 600 people attending SIMA’s - the Snow & Ice Management Association's, annual charity fund raising event at San Onofre. Food and fun galore, and an auction.

Then up at Four Doors and The Point, the best swell in 18 years was hitting for the third day in a row. The place was packed to capacity on the land, and very crowded in the water. Surf photographers were getting the shots of a career.

So much for those stories about the closure of San Onofre.
Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one. ~ Albert Einstein
