What a classic photo, however, you didn't fool me. That's Eddie McBride with Dr.Barney Wilkes.

Thanks for the memories, I liked Dewey alot he was a good friend and neighbor and he was very good to me when I rode for him, and his daughter was my daughters first baby sitter. What a sportsman he was.

Murph, bro, we hear you. I, too, knew Dewey he was years ahead of his time. I know you remember the Surf-a-Rama at the SM Civic, but what became of Richard Deese?

Anonymous,I haven't heard that name since the SM Civic Surf-A-Rama, I went into the Navy shortly after the one in 1964, but those were FUN! Great flash backs!!!

Lets not forget the Great Tubesteak standing with Dewey in the photo. Your still one of my IDOLS Tube!

Long, long ago, Worked in Venice shop for Velzy when Dewey was manager. After that mess, rode for Hap and along with Fred Phauler was Haps' rep at the first Surf-O-Rama. I guess Fred and I were some of the first Pro surfers? LOL, So been there done that! Crusher lives in Camarillo at this time. Dewey was a sad and bright page in surf history.

Hang 10, not long ago was
47 agonizing years back. You seem to be some sort of a historian, a movie was featured as an added attraction. What was the name of the movie. It was directed Paul Wendkos, produced by Louis Rachmil,
written by Gabrielle Upton.

The movie was shown throughout the day. Maybe the Four Preps will jar your memory.

Anon: I spent most of my time in front of the A frame with the 4 boards on it. Maybe Fred would remember? I don't? Steak may know, he was there most of the time until we left for the parties after we left for the night. 4 preps? Hmmm. I do remember Velzy comming over and talking Hap into having a drink with him in the bathroom of all places. Hell, I was 16 years in to this life? I figure remembering most of this crap is good enough?

Okay, but is the guy on the left wearing a string thong?

Thanks for the encouraging words, Murph. I sure wish there was a way you could explain to Hang '10' Freddy Phauler's name is spelled PFAHLER. Thanks Murph.

Hey Skip. Your wrong. Call Hap he will clear that up. Hell, I think I will, I need to get ahold of Ferd.

Hang '10', I just don't get it. Jacobs went to Redondo, I know where you matriculated. According to Mira Costa records Fredrick
Pfahler III is who you think is Ferd Phauler. I'm looking directly at the official MICOHI student directory. you may verify this at MICOHI Customer Service Dept. 1.800.877.6554. Good Luck.

Yeah! Right on Mule....

Mule; Your right! I don't know where I got the spelling? Does the Costa info give a birthday? Fred and my older brother went into the Coast Guard after graduation. There is a 50 year reunion comming up and my brother is trying to get ahold of Fred and some others. I will give him the number. Thanks again! It's too bad the mocies never showed how good Fred was!
