they usually imitate each other.

WOW! Murph you done did it again. I sure wish you could straighten out that renegade 'Surf Star' before he missinforms any more of you SANODAZ guys. Stadda is a voice impairment guy from, as Star' calls it, previous times. You are such an inspiration for this drab blog.

Aloha and mahalo Murph. Just a suggestion, dump
Murph, transfer the S to where your name would simply be Slaw. Not bad, eh?

Unless they're HENRY F-ING FORD!

Anonymous said...

Why is everybody down on Surfing Legend, Henry
Forg-O?

Anonymous said...

because they know him.

Anonymous said...

the Henry Ford thing is gettin real old. Use your imagination and come up with something new. How bout Greg Noll, he sure wasn't any angel or maybe Dora if you really want to go beserk.

Anon' never trust people with animal names e.g.
Bull, Cat. Worst yet, prefice it with da'.

This is unfair to Mr.Ford, who coincidently, isn't here to defend hisself. BTW, Henry is considered the Legend's Legend in surfing circles.

Anon' #16 is my name.

Anon#16: Hank was ok during his high school days. After that he got into stuff that was not real bright! I could go on and on because I was there and watched it all. We make choices in this life! Yes he was in Slip wn Wet and came home not to venture into those waves again? Oh well?

Seems like most of you never left junior high with all your ass kissing and name calling. Who cares about Ford or Tubbysteak or BK (and not the real BK who was worthy of care).

I agree, all the name dropping is getting very boring. It just means your an old guy remembering the glory days and someone else's glory at that. Nobody gives a rat's ass as surfing has passed up all those guys anyway. The older you get the better it WAS. 99% of the so called legends never amounted to anything in life except failure. Drugs, booze, prison or an early death.

If it wasn't for the pioneers of the sport, you probably would have stayed a Low-Rider from 909! You sound just like this rest of this new spoiled generation, you think you are entitled to everything! If you want respect in the water, you have to earn it. These older guys have paid their dues and earned the respect that others have for them, what they did has nothing to do with their surfing ability or love for the sport! Go cry on Snoop Dog's blog!

Anon', ' name dropper'. That's a wonderful synopsis of BK, you know,
failure, drugs, prison, booze, early death--the whole nine. He makes
Ford-O appear as a saint.

Yeah I hate! I'm with you. What about all these baseball legends who did all those amazing things with a bat, I'll tell you, STEROIDS! World champion boxers, how many are ex-cons? Foot ball? Same damn thing, illegal drug use! So you are so perfect you can rag on these people who have done so much for this sport? I have 2 words for you, ASS HOLE!

sorry, but my childhood heroes were guys like Joe Quigg, Hobie Alter and Iilima Kalama. This argument is getting pointless. Lets just agree to disagree, okay.

Let me just say this, what Henry did away from surfing did nothing to advance his surfing ability and make him the SURFING LEGEND he is. And lets not forget the Olympic gold medalists that lost their gold because of drugs. Nothing Henry did enhanced his surfing but pure surfing ability. If you're so pure and good, where is your name on the long list of surfing legends? I'll tell you, its not anywhere!

let's see how much you respect Henry when Sano is CLOSED this Decemeber because HE HAS IT RENTED FOR HIMSELF & HIS OXBOW PALS. Maybe if you kiss his ass more he will let you in for free.

Anonymous said...

Am I a legend?

Anonymous said...

In My Own Mind, what does Legendhood mean to you? The only Legend I recognize is Murphy. Ain't he sumpin'

Anonymous said...

Quigg and Alter were not great surfers they were known for their surfboards, Noll was a kook, but man he had stone's and could ride the biggest waves. Bing, Jacobs, Weber, great surfers. Grannis, not a great surfer but, a legendary surf photographer. Hoppy not a great surfer but, a great contest organizer and his scoring method's are still used today on the pro tour. Still all are great legends of the sport. Now Dora was a great surfer but, he had problems, does that make him less of a surf legend? So get off Henry, you're not even good enough to carry his wax!

Anonymous said...

Bringing the Ox-Bow to Sano is a crying shame! I hate that thought as much as the next guy, and yes Henry should be ashamed of himself, but that doesn't make him less of a legend. Besides, you really can't blame Henry alone, the state park service is giving him the OK, if they would have said NO, that would have been it! Why aren't you throwing all this hostility at the parks dept?

Anonymous, THANK YOU! I'm speechless! (but that doen't mean I'm not posting "MURPHY'S LAW" in the morning)

I give up and am moving to Pacoima this weekend and becoming a Ho-Dad.

I just can't win with you guys.

Anonymous said...

My point is that people who spend all their time kissing ass or tearing others down are probably losers, whether they ever surfed well or not.

Anonymous said...

"Drgs, booze, prison or an early death"

Are you picking on my Savior?

Anonymous said...

MURPHY AND ANONYMOUS. ONE IN THE SAME!

Lonnie said...

Sorry to disapPOINT you, but I'm not ever anonymous! I've been called alot of things but anonymous isn't one of them!

Anonymous said...

I could go: You got it wrong! Greg could surf anything! Hoppy was one of the best in the 30'S and 40'S. Granny did well also. Check Doc Balls book. Henry was agood surfer just like Doyle. I could list names you guys don't know that were way better! This is pointless. Murph knows what I'm saying.

Anonymous said...

Lets stop all this who could and who couldn't krap! Lets bag on the stand-up paddle guys now! Star seems to know everyone and everything about surfing, maybe he should write abook and call it, "i know everything and everybody in surfing history and the rest of you are all stupid". And if he thinks that those old guys were good surfers. They were great in the're day of 50 to 90 lb. boards but not much turning and nose riding then. Pioneers yes they were, performance surfers they were not. Yes, Noll could surf big and small waves, but he was still akook.

Here we go: Not a kook. Pain in the ass, but not a kook. I was lucky to be there and to remember so much. Hell, Peff can't figure out what went on yesterday? Ask him? LOL

Anonymous said...

Peff Who???? Not everyone knows who all these people are.
