Senator Feinstein's Position The Toll Road

Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) responded to a letter asking her to help oppose the TCA's plan to put the Toll Road through San Onofre State Park. The letter gives a brief account of the Toll Road's recent history. Although she "welcomed the opportunity to respond," she does not state a position. The Senator's website is also silent as to the Toll Road. She has a section for "issues of concern" to citizens of California, but she doesn't include the 241 Toll Road.

One must be concerned that Feinstein's failure to speak out against the Toll Road going through San Onofre means that she supports it. I called and spoke to her staff. All I get from a staffer (Cody), after he consults with his superiors, is the evasive answer that the Senator is, "of course" doing her "due diligence on any issue that potentially affects the environment," and "there is no other information available." I see. She needs more time. Thirty years of study, evaluations, hearings, etc. is not enough. Shameful. You can email Senator Feinstein here.

In the name of Christ, finish the toll road. I'm no enviromentalist
activist. Stop pussyfooting around. Hook San Onofre with the 241. Stop dragging your damn feet.

In the Seats, are you sure you don't mean 'A-Hotel' well, how 'bout it? I side with Anon'# 1. Connect the road. San Onofre and Trestles are out of the 'mix'.

SACRAMENTO -- Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is pushing state regulators to sign off on a high-voltage power line that a San Diego utility wants to build through the middle of California's largest state park.

Proposed for Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, the project puts Schwarzenegger again at odds with environmentalists -- and some state officials -- who believe he is allowing California's unrivaled collection of public preserves to be threatened.
. . .
a draft state and federal environmental review completed in January. That report found five preferable alternatives,
. . .
including routes that are 40 miles shorter

road would do nothing to solve the traffic problem - yet it would destroy a state park if built

God love you senator
Let all toll roads proceed. Too much congestion, too much confusion. We need relief from all congesting traffic. I reside at Lake Elsinore.

If you want this road built you'll have to change the 08' defense authorization bill which is now law. Besides that, "If" the commerce department over turns the coastal commision's ruling, the matter will still have to come before the coastal commission again. The TCA is being investigated for the handling of bond money. On and on the list goes, but I guess you guys trust your government. The ones that can't balance a check book and you still want to give them free reign. One good thing about Ol mans, every one has one foot in the grave.

There's a definition for repeatedly banging your head against the wall. Now what was that called again, and again, and again, and again...
