You mean Hobie is a crook? I don't think so! Ford! Huh? Where did they get this crap? I was there and still am! Too many of the greats are not in the so call legends book! What is up with that?

'In the LineUp', you should be in the jail line up, that's for sure.
"LEGEND'S OF SURFING" by the 'Duke of Boyd' is now the official Bible of Surfing, bar none. The thing with which you have a problem is it's not about wave pool legends, and you know who they are, don't you.

Last anon. Wave pool? What the hell is that? Most guys that post here were not there and don't get it anyway. Wannabees etc. Surf writers that were not there! So much surf history that goes by the wayside! So sad. Legends of surfing? Who says?

Calm down now, Murphy.

'Lined up for no stroke', how can you say that with a straight face? Legend's of Surfing includes Art Brewer and 'Balsa Bill' Yerkes. Where you been anyway?

Time To Surf said...

Balsa Bill, HMMMM? How about the Balsa that Tuthill and Yater put out in 93 and 94? After that the market was saturated and they shut down when Rhino started blanks out of central America?

Oh, my land, this is unreal for gawd's sake. They have a recent full pager photo in legends of Surfing featuring Yater at Summerland. Time2Surf says Tuthill and Yater, get this, back in 1993, imported Ecuadorian Balsa, then sticks his nose up at 'Balsa Bill' Yerkes who bought SunDek Swimwear from Stewart Levine way up in San Francisco CA Yuu folks should stick to music b;ogs. Isn't 1993 when they had that oil spill up in Valdez. Here's my arm, well you know the rest.

Just The Facts Please said...

Anon whatever. The balsa that Tuthill and Yater got came from the main supplier back in the day! General Veneer, in Paramount. Who gives a rats ass about the rag market? If you guys had facts hit you in the face you would not now what hit you! I'll bet you guys go to the beach in those below the knee peddle pushers that we called Makaha Droundrs back then. Hell. there not even baggies!

Anonymous said...

'Facts Please', Pete Peterson once said, the thing that ticked him off were folks that could not get the facts corRect. General Veneer was, and is, in South Gate CA not
Paramount CA . You should know the below the knee 'Makaha Droundrs [sic]
were recognized simply as 'cut offs'.

Not Easy said...

OOOPPSS That would be Otis street. Don't know how I screwed that up? Old age huh? Kapu had em down to his feet. Look at Nolls' film with Brown co-narrating The shot is at the Manhattan Pier. Yeah cut offs was also used. Who gives a.

'Not Easy', no it's not. Many years back, Manhattan Beach Blvd. was Center St. Kapu had canary yellow, red/blue piping, thigh length new from Desmonds.
They were pattered after 'Outrigger Canoe Club'. He would parade up and down the Blvd. in them. Remember? I
know you do.
