Construction is where a big bite can be felt. I myself don't give any competitive bids. Most of my competitors employee Mexicans. I ask them how can you do that? All they say is, that's how things are done now. All of my work is from a circle general contractors that live and work by the old ways. And by word of mouth. A lot of what you see being built in and around OC is by out of state company's with out of state subs who hire illegals. So the next time you have that remodel done or buy a house, make sure the people that are going to do the work are at the very least citizen's of the good old US and reside somewhere around here. Oh, and stop taking your SUV to the car wash.

I will be sending a letter to my homeowners association. The company they hired to butcher the trees and mess up the sprinklers in the common areas appears to be hiring illegals. I will be requesting information that all contractors hired by the association prove the legality of each worker. I wonder if I can withold my dues if in fac they are hiring illegals? And, yes, I would be willing to pay more for LEGAL workers.
Merrils Paints in San Clemente uses legal citizens for his recommendations for contractors for all aspects of the remodel or renovation.

Anyone else have some local legal-resident hiring business recommendations for us to patronize? How about some illegal hiring ones to avoid?
