NO LEASHES?

No leash is a danger, it gets so crowded now that a loose board can hit several people on its way to the beach. Don't just think of yourself in the water and look around and you will see that even the best surfers at San Onofre wears leashes! YOU ARE responsible for any damage to surfboards or any bodily injury that is caused by your loose board! If you think "I rip, I don't need a leash" you probably need to use one, because attitude doesn't mean your good. Be considerate and don't be a HOPPER or a SNAKE and you and everyone else will have more fun. If you forget your leash, stop and ask the Mayor if can can borrow one, he has a supply of them that he finds left on the beach! Have fun and be safe!

Murphy , wtf, are you talking about. If they see you coming, and can't get out of the wat, well, that's tough totems.

I HOP! So get the hell outta' my way.

Everybody hops at San-O. Wear a freakin' leash anyway, 'cause I gurantee you, you ain't the baddest ass on the beach.

What a shame to watch such a fine sport deteriorate into what surfing has become. You and your leash make me want to puke.

Aloha

Amen brother.

I couldn't have said it better.

Leash. The crowd would not be so bad if it was not for the leash! The damn thing rouined surfing! No one cycles in the line up. Learn how to swim! It's good for you! You talk to the old guys and most will agree. As in old, 63 years and still out there big time!

The whole fucking bunch of you can KMMFA.

Maybe leashes should be outlawed, crowds would thin by attrition. Think of it, first would be the casualties, those not smart enough to get out of the way of deadly flying fiberglass.
Next would be the people who for one reason or another refused to learn how to swim before venturing into the sea.
Last to go would be the cholesterol laden old farts who once pitched off their 11 footers, would be too exhausted to make it back out, that is assuming they make back in at all........

Hang Ten, you'd better surf as long as you can 'cause at your age you're not gonna' get your liceense renewed.

There may be one or two of you morons who surfs well enough not to need a leash, but you don't surf as well as a lot of guys who do wear leashes - that's certain.
You lose your board, you deserve to lose it the rock garden. Just hope it doesn't hit anyone on the way in.

Oh,I get it! You guys don't wear leashes because you can't do your tricks with a leash on! Like you can't do head-stands, spinners, coffins, fin-first take-offs, and all those other worthless CLOWN type moves because you can't "Ride the Nose"! I'm an old guy too, and a leash keeps me in the water longer, I don't need to swim (even though I can), so I don't get tired as soon and can stay out and enjoy the surf much longer. And you can blame Hollywood for the crowds, not the leash!

Get Real, get real puhleaze!
Don't blame movies, blame mags such as NALU featuring pieces on San Onofre, and the perrinial favorite, Tubesteak standing in front of the Malibu Pier. Sal Geez says it's him, but it ain't. IT'S NOT WES wILLINS EITHER!

Thank you Danny for setting us straight!

Yah know, I use to throw a mid 90's fast ball, with movement on it. As a left hander it made me especially dangerous. Now days, though I still have a great delivery to the plate, it looks a basketball when it gets there.

I enjoy watching boards bounce off the rocks. It keeps the selfish kooks out of the water for a few days while they Bondo up their ego extensions.

ROCKS! You want to talk about rocks? Try surfing Haggerty's or the Cove or Indicators or Lunada Bay in PV! The rocks at San-O are like pea-gravel compared to those rocks! BUT, I do like to watch people do the "CRAB" when they loose their boards!

Anonymous said...

Hey Osama: Tell that to Rabitt will ya. Back with more a little later.

Anonymous said...

Leashes = MORE KOOKS!

Anonymous said...

On The Rocks! Have ridden all the places in PV. No cord or rubber shirt. I lived in PV during high school. There were no high schools. That may tell you where I come from. If you want a thrill and are tired of the crowds, join me in Alpine Snowboarding. No better deal than sliding across the snow at 50 miles per hour. If I could figure out how to post a pic I would. It's just as good as hittihg a bottom turn at Sunset on a 12 ft day!

You should see the mental giants walking their dogs without a leash at Dog Patch. Maybe you leashless bottom feeders should join them.

Hang Ten! You must have gone to Narbon High with some of my good friends before PV high was built! We were the first to surf Haggerty's, Indicators and lunada Bay. Can you answer this simple question? How did "BURN-OUT" (which is north of Torrance's main beach) get its name? Only true locals know that one.

HSCM: The first?? Jim Piper, Greg Noll, Al Smith. In the mid 50'S Theres film on that. HT

HSCM: My brother almost got killed at the Bay on a balsa redwood. He was out with Bob Hogan. Clean up set. Well over 20 ft. They had to swim to the south side to get out. No rubber shirts! Way before the Dominator! HT

And VISA VERSA! HT

HT, You spelled my last name wrong, but thats OK most people do! That should be an "R" not a "U"! OK, It got its name because of the 2 fires that burned down "The Riviera Club" back in the mid '50's.

All this childhood hero worship is really getting scary. See me in my office, pronto.

I spend most of my time at "The Point" at San Onofre, and some of the time on the golf course. Been in San Clemente for 11 years. I dawn patrol on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Come on down and ask for me, I'd love to talk about the old Torrance beach crew.

Anonymous said...

Oh, The burn. I may of still been living in Hermosa when that happened. HT

tom witt uses a leash is he a kuk or not?

Lonnie said...

I got it covered Puttz. And remember: wear a leash! LOL

Dingo said...

Let's really separate the men from the boys here.

NO WETSUITS AND NO LIGHTWEIGHT FOAM BOARDS.

Just bare skin and hundred pound planks.

That will thin the crowd.

Anonymous said...

Also, if you choose not to wear a leash, thats fine. Freedom of choice. Too many rules as is. I also choose not to rescue your board as it's being drilled into the rocks.

Anonymous said...

This is incredible!

Mr.T, Say Hi to those guys for me when you see them, and tell Peff I'm ready to play golf when he comes this way again, I'll even spot him a stroke or two. Glad you found our blog, I post by the name Rick Griffin gave me "Murphy"! Looking forward to seeing you at San-O when you can get down. Keep the comments coming, we have a great time on this site!

tom Witt does NOT wear a leash!

Anonymous said...

Chances are , If you get hit in the water by another surf board, it's going to have a leash on it.
If nine out of ten people didn't ware a leash, there would be nine swimmers and one surfer.

Anonymous said...

Effective immediatley:

All leashes will now be attached around neck instead of ankle. Report for retrofit, Toilet #2
That is all.

Mr.T.(Hang Ten),I deleted some of our comments because I didn't want to leave everyones names on the blog. I'm in the phone book (remember R not U)and give me a call and I'll give you my e-mail address. To many eyes on the blog you know!

HT, I think it was the Vintage longboard contest at Old Mans back in '96' or '97'. That was the last time I saw you.

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

if you are sick of witt get out of the trader you juicer

Anonymous said...

witt must use your head as a barstool!

Anonymous said...

Witt don't own the Trader DUDE! And neither do YOU. Maybe YOU should try hanging out at Goodies!

Anonymous said...

You know RX, I could give you so many more times that leashes have saved lives! A hell of-a-lot more times by far than they have caused injury or death. Maybe you better stay out of the water, because sharks take more lives as do airplanes and cars, Oh and don't forget second-hand smoke! Now go play in the shore-break KOOK!

Anonymous said...

Yeah! RX, And Mark foo's leash did not get hung on a rock and cause him to drown, he was hit by his board on the drop when the lip came over him. If it hadn't of been for his leash, they might never have found him, he was hanging at the end of his leash when they finally found his board floating far inside the break! So don't wear a leash and maybe they won't find YOU.

why are you people always so angry? don't take it so serious, you leash wearing fags.
